Hullo from the hundred acre hood , I was just threading along and how about that , here and now I can say hullo to whom ever , where ever , and when , like now , ergh , I am resting my fretting hand , strained it I did , yesterday , whilst messing around and around with parallel fifths , yup , so I found this page while reading about Larry Coryell , and now I will check out Emily's works , I love music , music , yup , art that can be seen , heard , and felt , ok later , perhaps , maybe , never know , when , where , there , here , I go , off , into , the , never , ending , search , for , life , lines , the , new , the , old , the this , and , that , and , and , and ...
Thanks for getting back with that Simon ......I borrowed Transitions from local library years ago and taped it, just popped over to Amazon to purchase it now but its £55?.....what a shame Emily's Cd's are'nt more readily available, maybe theres some news on the site , I'll have a search I tried to covert from you tube to MP3 but some scarey virus message so a bit wary;-)
Thanks Simon really appreciate it. Gonna head over and check it out;-)
Hello from Bristol, England. I've just discovered this beautiful site helping to keeping Emily's work and spirit alive, what a wonderful way to celebrate her life , thank you for putting this all together, I've got some transcriptions i'm working on which I can send over too...I just love this site, thanks for all the interviews, lessons and live tapes too, just lovely. I've just listened to the audio lesson labelled Misty and Daahoud, can anyone remind of the first track they play on this file, it's got that Killer Joe vibe happening.
I think the tune you're referring to is the not very well known Duke Ellington composition Searchin' . Emily covered it on her Transitions album. You can find the whole album on YouTube at the moment - Searchin' is the second track.
