Larry Coryell & Peter Moc

Larry Coryell & Peter Moc

***2016 UPDATE! New Emily tribute gig by Larry Coryell and Peter Moc on May 20th 2016, Crane Lane Theatre, Phoenix Street, Cork, Ireland. Admission FREE***

Shortly before her birthday this year and a few weeks after the 30th anniversary of the recording of Emily and Larry Coryell's album Together, Czech guitarist Peter Moc joined veteran Maestro Larry Coryell in Belfast, Northern Ireland to pay tribute to Emily by revisiting some of the tunes that made that album so special.

Gerri's Blues (a Pat Martino composition also known as Cisco) is a definite highlight of the Together album and one that Emily had been playing for years in various settings long before her duo with Larry. Emily really made that tune her own by adding her unique rhythmic fingerprint with a deep, in the pocket groove. It's really exciting to hear Peter and Larry's interplay in their tribute performance and there are some very special moments where Peter Moc really does capture the spirit of Emily's playing so well. Their performance of How Insensitive, the Antonio Carlos Jobim standard that Emily loved so dearly, is intense, impassioned and graceful. We are delighted that the duo have decided to continue to perform a tribute gig for Emily each year. Be sure to catch Larry's short speech about Emily in the final video.

Our heartfelt thanks to Peter and Larry for sharing these performances. Visit Larry here: and look out for Peter Moc's upcoming duo tour in Ireland in March 2016 with one of the finest jazz guitarists on the scene today, New York's Sheryl Bailey.
