For You and a Friend

Holiday wishes to everyone. With Emily in mind and celebrations near we offer a transcription to one of the very few holiday songs Emily arranged for guitar, the Claude Thornhill composition, Snowfall.

The studio version appears on the album, East To Wes but the transcription is taken from a 1989 live performance at the Manchester Craftsmen Guild - a duet for jazz guitar and bass from master transcriptionist, musician and teacher, Wolfgang Kulawik. How lucky we are to have his service for challenging pieces such as this one was, so we may continue to share Emily's music to students and fans across the globe.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

CELEBRATE EMILY !

Celebrate-Emily

In September we remember Emily all month long, honoring her birthday on September 18th, 1957.    This year we do it in style with Wolfgang Kulawik's first ever transcription of Emily's Wes style octave-romping, full-fledged be-bopping composition called Pocket Wes, from the 1982 album, Take Two.    Pocket Wes begins with a sensational flourish from note one and never looks back. Dive into the music anyway you like it and celebrate Emily in your own way throughout September.
Cheers to Emily's incomparable energy and style.
